Overview

KRCR is seeking an Assistant News Director to help lead the #1 news team in Northern California. The role involves overseeing newscast production, working with reporters, anchors, and digital teams, and managing breaking news coverage and social media engagement.

Skills & Experience

• Oversee newscasts, script reviews, and lead breaking news coverage
• Develop and research daily content, including social media posts
• Coordinate with the news director to implement news philosophy
• Review newscasts for quality and brand consistency
• Manage special projects and enterprise stories
• Build contacts and sources for story development
• Operate the assignment desk efficiently

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
• Proficiency with social media platforms and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of journalistic ethics and laws
• Strong written communication skills
• Effective communication, under pressure work, and deadline management
• People skills with coaching and motivating abilities
• Research and public records experience is a plus

Additional Information
