Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated library media specialist who understands the developmental and academic needs of elementary students and is committed to ensuring all students learn.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining relationships with colleagues and the community, recognizing that school libraries are central to the school environment.
- Building a comprehensive library program for students and staff.
- Serving as a technology support and innovator within the school.
- Managing library operations for effective material circulation, service coordination, and instruction.
- Supporting student achievement through library resources and activities.
- Differentiating instruction for diverse learning needs.
- Applying knowledge of learning standards, especially in complex texts and close reading.
- Teaching essential skills such as Microsoft Office, research techniques, internet research, source evaluation, catalog searches, keyboarding, and fostering reading appreciation.
- Facilitating access to research resources for students and staff.
- Encouraging exploration through print and online resources.
- Collaborating on curriculum aligned with Next Generation standards.
- Utilizing research in enrichment education with a focus on Technology & Innovation in Education.

Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS-registered college or university with a Bachelor's or Master's Degree.
- Current NYS teaching license in the required content area.
