Position Overview

Orlando WFTV is seeking a News Producer who can craft in-depth, fast-paced, and memorable newscasts. The ideal candidate will own breaking news segments within newscasts and during extended coverage. They should be capable of showcasing content using newsroom set and tools to enhance storytelling, have an understanding of multi-platform coverage, and contribute to generating enterprise story ideas. Collaboration, openness to feedback, and a desire to grow are essential qualities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Create a newscast using content that aligns with research guidelines.
• Incorporate station research and branding consistently to deliver a dynamic viewing experience.
• Produce newscasts with strong news judgment, including recent experience with live, wall-to-wall coverage of hard news events.
• Embrace change, breaking news, and fluid newscasts; work comfortably with digital and social news platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism or Communications.
• 2-3 years of news production experience in a hard news market.
• Ability to adapt to additional shifts as needed.
• Understanding of effective tease writing and value-based coverage promises.
• Flexibility to modify content within newscasts effortlessly.
• Clear communication skills and effective delegation abilities.
