Deputy Project Leader (Telecommunications)

is a training position focused on supervising and directing project employees, preparing strategic plans and budgets, developing comprehensive project plans, and analyzing statistical data. Applicants must have experience in technology systems integration, including passive and active communication infrastructure, with proven leadership in design and construction teams. Responsibilities

Assist in leading teams providing Communications and Electronic Safety and Security infrastructure, including pathways, cabling, networking, wireless systems, CCTV, access control, A/V, and other technology applications, ensuring design efficiency and contractual compliance. Support the design and deployment of Information Transport Systems and telecommunications systems. Manage day-to-day project operations. Identify and resolve change orders effectively. Price, track, and manage change orders. Plan and monitor cash flow against expenses. Maintain as-builts during project execution. Document project issues and conditions. Plan and execute project completion and punch list processes. Develop goals and plans to organize and accomplish work efficiently. Read and interpret blueprints and specifications. Research and compile submittals, pricing change orders, and prepare estimates for partially designed projects. Coordinate with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to resolve work procedures, complaints, and problems. Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, representing the company appropriately. Ensure timely decision-making, RFIs, and documentation of verbal agreements. Qualifications

Education, Experience & Technical Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in telecommunications integration or electrical contracting, with a Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields). Experience on telecommunication and electronic security projects ranging from $500,000 to $10M. Proficiency with contract documentation, change orders, RFIs, and submittals. Experience installing Information Transport Systems. Proficiency in MS Office, Project Management, CPM Scheduling, Cost Modeling, and AutoCAD. Knowledge of design techniques and tools for electrical and security projects. Understanding of construction and integration project workflows. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to plan and organize effectively. Ability to work in diverse environments and maintain reliable attendance at customer sites. Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends. Up to 25% travel; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Preferred Experience: Experience with Accubid Estimating or similar software. Proficiency in Primavera P6 CPM Scheduling or equivalent. Willingness to travel to project locations as needed. Abilities Prolonged computer use and sitting. Reach and dexterity for manipulating objects and using a keyboard. Effective listening, speaking, reading, and comprehension skills. Ability to apply rules to specific problems and understand speech.
