SkillBridge Aircraft Maintenance Technician - ANCHORAGE, AK MUST BE ACTIVE-DUTY U.S. MILITARY TO QUALIFY Global Medical Response (GMR) is proud to be an authorized provider of the DOD SkillBridge program, offering U.S. Military Service Members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience in the medical response industry through training, internships and on-the-job (OJT) experience. Under the SkillBridge program, GMR hosts active-duty U.S. Military members for skilled employment training during the final six months of their active-duty obligated service. The SkillBridge Program with GMR will run for 90-days. During the SkillBridge program, a military service member will retain their military pay and benefits and will not be compensated by GMR. SkillBridge Program Minimum Required Qualifications (general): Current Active-Duty Service Member Meets DoD SkillBridge Qualifications Available to participate for 90-days Obtain signed approval from your unit commander (04 or above) and agree that participation in SkillBridge can be terminated at any time by the Service if mission requirements dictate During SkillBridge Program 24-hour base housing provided at select locations (for Field Mechanics) If Hired after Completion of SkillBridge Program Although successful completion of a Skillbridge program is not a guarantee of future employment with any GMR company, a newly hired GMR/Guarian Flight Aircraft Maintenance Technician can expect the following: Starting base salary of $28.00 - $55.00, depending on experience. Additional stipends included for on-call duty, Rover, IA certificate, etc. $10,000 sign-on bonus 24-hour base housing provided at select locations Job Summary Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) at GMR/Guarian Flight are responsible for the overall maintenance and safety of our fixed Wing fleet across multiple locations within the Company footprint. Technicians will support our KingAir B200, C90, Pilatus PC-12. This is a key role to ensure our team can safely maintain and deliver timely and high-quality transportation services, care and customer service to patients. Responsibilities: Perform maintenance services including mechanical inspections, screening, repairs and provide regular statuses to the Lead Technician. Manage inventory checks to ensure stock of supplies and equipment, regularly update the equipment tracking log, place replacement requests when necessary and document part expenditures. Clearly document service paperwork and FAA information as required and adhere to policies and procedures while complying with the company’s information security standards. Maintain a safe and clean working environment for the aircraft maintenance team and flight crew. Facilitate coordination of efforts between departments, vendors and team members. Work collaboratively and professionally with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow AMTs and operations team. Minimum Required Qualifications: Must have relevant hands-on experience FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate or able to obtain within the next year Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations Experience with aircraft maintenance systems, records and maintenance support and planning Related experience under CFR Parts 91, 135 and 145 preferred Air Ambulance knowledge preferred Avionics troubleshooting and electrical repair experience preferred Physical Requirements: Must be able to safely perform work on scaffolding or ladders. Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces for varying time durations. Must be able to lift, push, and pull objects weighing from 10-50 pounds at a time. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 150 pounds cumulatively with assistance. Manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate tools, make adjustments and repairs. Exposure to loud noise levels, vibrations, and test sounds; may require the use of headphones. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Inspection and repair of aircraft requires good visual acuity and eye-hand coordination. Must be acceptable in accordance with the FAA drug and alcohol testing program. Frequent hands-to-key ability to input data and information. Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
