Job Responsibilities:

1. Lead the transition from broadcast-focused newsrooms to multi-platform newsrooms through active daily example and training.
2. Develop and implement a winning content strategy for the station.
3. Manage social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to build brand recognition and engage viewers.
4. Review and edit content for accuracy, grammar, and style following prescribed guidelines.
5. Create and edit content for on-air and digital platforms.
6. Research background information to ensure complete and accurate news reporting.
7. Gather information through research, interviews, and attendance at events.
8. Pitch local and trending stories during meetings.
9. Build and manage digital campaigns to promote shows and specials.
10. Write stories for web and digital platforms.
11. Ensure content meets journalistic standards and quality.
12. Perform additional duties as assigned and find innovative ways to engage audiences via social media and websites.

Requirements & Skills:

• Degree in journalism; experience with daily newspapers or news sites; live web samples or print pages preferred.
• Proficiency in Associated Press style, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and basic HTML preferred.
• Knowledge of CSS, Flash, and other relevant technologies is a plus.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team and respond positively to feedback.
