About the TeamHTC Creative Labs is a global team of designers, artists, engineers, and researchers that delivers design strategy and incubates new products and experiences for the HTC portfolio. This team is responsible for much of HTCs most significant design work over the past decade. About Your Next OpportunityAs

Senior XR Visual UX Designer

on the VIVE Creative Labs Team, you will own end-to-end design of software features and initiatives, from start to finish with a focus on visual UX design defining workflows, wireframes, defining new design systems, mocks, and interactions to deliver unique and innovative XR experiences. You will work closely with a small but nimble team of designers, researchers, planners, and engineers to realize your design solutions as in-headset, interactive prototypes.

This is an on-site role based in Berkeley, CA.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Identify opportunities to push the boundaries of VR and XR experiences and interactions, and redefine conventions of XR software experiencesCollaborate with other designers & prototypers to bring XR designs to life across VIVE product offeringsIncorporate user & market research into design solutions understanding user needs and market landscape to deliver unique, yet appropriate, design solutionsCreate user flows, UI designs, journey maps, interaction models, and information architecturesDesign & iterate through visual experiments and use visual design as a primary mode of communicationCommunicate design vision to team members, cross-functional teams, and executives via storyboards, videos, presentations, and other assetsCoordinate with a multi-disciplinary team to mature design concepts from a napkin sketches to interactive prototypesCraft thoughtful design principles and systems to inform and guide design decisions

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Abilities)Bachelors or Master's degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, HCI, or relevant field (or comparable experience)8+ years of experience designing experiences and interfaces for software productsExperience working with a multi-disciplinary team of designers, researchers, planners, and engineersExperience working at every stage of the design process - from user research, ideation, workflow definition, hifi mocks, and design prototypesHi-fidelity visual design is your UX super powerStrong time management and communication skillsA portfolio highlighting multiple projects and demonstrating an end-to-end design processProficiency in Figma and Adobe CC suite of products

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Abilities)Experience designing for VR/AR/XR or other spatial experiencesFilm editing, motion, and animation Premiere, After Effects, or similar3D software experience Unity, C4D, Blender, Maya, or similarUX and Interaction Design experience beyond conventional 2D web and mobile applicationsExperience or interest in sound design

At the time of posting, HTC's estimated annual base salary for this position is $131,975 - $154,325 USD. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including candidate skills, qualifications, experience, business needs, and geographic location. This position is also eligible for participation in our discretionary bonus programs.
