We are seeking an experienced Audio Visual Sales Engineer for one of the TOP commercial AV integrators in the DFW area. This role is responsible for calculating the total cost of AV projects by analyzing project specifications, determining required equipment and materials, estimating labor costs, and sourcing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors. The estimator will develop detailed proposals to effectively communicate project value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and RFP documents
  • Conduct site surveys, bid meetings, and discovery sessions
  • Determine and price AV equipment, materials, and labor costs
  • Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Develop comprehensive project proposals, including scope of work and cost breakdowns
  • Assess cost factors related to site location and project conditions
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and sales teams to optimize estimates
  • Complete bidder forms, proposal templates, and documentation for submission
  • Present cost estimates and strategy to leadership and stakeholders
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings upon award
  • Maintain accurate tracking of estimates and revisions

Required Qualifications:

  • AVIXA CTS certification (CTS-D is a plus)
  • 5+ years of experience in AV estimation, preferably with a commercial AV integrator
  • Strong knowledge of AV systems, standards, and building codes
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
  • Experience with cost estimating software and tools
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Crestron, AMX, Extron, QSC, Shure, Biamp, Poly, Cisco, and other leading AV technologies
  • Knowledge of construction processes and risk assessment
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure and IP-based AV systems (Dante, AES67, multicast/unicast)

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel for site visits and client meetings
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 10 lbs when necessary
