Technical Writer (Bloomington, IN)

Our client in the medical devices, life sciences, and pharma space is currently seeking a Technical Writer for a large project involving rewriting SOPs from IBM to Blue Mountain. This is a contract role with an expected duration of 3-6 months. The Technical Writer must work onsite at the client’s facility in Bloomington, IN, as proprietary information cannot leave the site. Candidates with knowledge of life sciences but no Blue Mountain experience may be considered. All experience levels are welcome; a self-starter with 1-2 years of experience who can research and problem-solve is ideal.

Role Details

The Technical Writer in the Calibration Department will develop Standard Operating Procedures using equipment, system, or calibration software manuals, instrument specifications, etc. The role reports to the Calibration Manager and requires onsite presence.

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with engineers, scientists, regulatory specialists, and product managers to gather and interpret technical information.
  2. Ensure documentation complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements such as FDA and ISO standards.
  3. Develop scope and approach for SOPs.
  4. Identify sources and stakeholders for SOP development.
  5. Author procedures, review with stakeholders, and submit for final approval.
  6. Manage multiple SOPs simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of technical writing experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
  • Experience with SOP development, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations and GMP is a plus.
  • Strong research, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Blue Mountain is highly desirable but not mandatory.

Additional Information

Position: Associate, Full-time, in Staffing and Recruiting industry.

Compensation ranges from $102,890.67 to $139,637.34 annually.
