Cleveland Magazine is a multi-platform media brand that publishes a print magazine, as well as video and digital content. They are seeking a design intern to help shape the visual identity of their publication.

Job Description:

Design Intern

Are you passionate about design and eager to make your mark in the world of magazines? Cleveland Magazine is looking for a design intern to join their team and contribute to the visual identity of their publication across print and digital platforms.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the creation of layouts for 1-2 page articles and special sections
2. Design on-brand graphics to enhance the visual appeal of the publication
3. Collaborate with editors and art directors to ensure a cohesive visual identity
4. Collect photography and video for print and online stories
5. Stay updated on design trends and incorporate fresh ideas into the publication

Qualifications:

1. Some experience in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
2. Junior or senior pursuing a design degree
3. A keen eye for design and attention to detail
4. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
6. A passion for magazines and a desire to learn and grow in the field of design
7. Hands-on experience in magazine design
8. Exposure to the inner workings of an established publication and media brand
9. Mentorship from experienced art directors and editors in the industry
10. Opportunity to showcase your work to a wide audience

Additional Details:

• Unpaid
• 10-20 hours per week
• Remote with the opportunity to work from the office with the full-time staff once a week if applicable
• Three internship opportunities per year: Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters
