Description Product Designer Contractor Job Description Hiring Manager: AnneMarie Lock | Ideal Onboarding Date: ASAP | Hours: FT (40 hr/week) | Duration: 6 month contract Project / Role Goals: The Merchant Design team creates products and services that help merchants thrive on DoorDash. From in-store operations to business management, we turn pain points into seamless experiences, making DoorDash an essential partner at every stage of their journey. We're seeking a contract designer to support high-impact projects for the Merchant Finance, Tax, and Reporting team. You'll lead initiatives that improve the merchant experience, solving pain points while driving business goals. Beyond designing pixels, you'll own your domain-collaborating with research, product, engineering, and analytics to shape strategy. Experience in finance, data visualization, or reporting is a plus. Key Responsibilities: Explore complex, ambiguous problem spaces, working with your team to understand the opportunity, and then chart a path forward. Use quantitative data and qualitative feedback to inform the design decisions iteratively. Own the end-to-end design (user flows, interaction, visual, etc.) across multiple products and projects Clearly articulate your thinking throughout the design process, participate and present in reviews and work sessions to develop solutions further Build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams such as UX Research, Product Management, Engineering, Business Analytics, Operations, and Marketing. Provide implementation guidance to engineers and ensure features launch at the highest quality Qualifications: You have 5+ years of experience as a product/UX designer in a relevant industry. You enjoy working in ambiguous problem spaces and bring clarity to your teams through your mastery of the design process (and the occasional design sprint) You value high-quality well crafted visual design and obsess over the details. You are self-aware, curious, and humble. Prior design experience with finance, tax, data visualization, and reporting is a big plus. List of Skills: Figma Experience with Design Systems Interaction / UI Design (Wireframing) Expert use of Design tools or ability to pick them up quickly
