The Mechanical Designer- under the leadership of the Manager of Manufacturing, will support the process to provide business essential, cost effective, product design support. The Product Engineer 1) Be responsible for the design and documentation of products during the design and development phases 2) Own design and development activities, 3) Drive cross functional involvement in strict adherence to the development process 4) Partner in the identification of new suppliers and drive supplier development process. 5). Support procurement in management of existing supply base 6) Understand current automotive accessory trends.

• Reliable, consistent, on-site attendance is a requirement. This position requires you to be punctual and dependable in order to meet the needs of the business; including attending and participating in meetings and presentations.

• Produce engineering designs and drawings in accordance with the applicable drawing and quality standards.

• Maintain proficiency with drawing standards and tolerancing.

• Maintain proficiency with document and configuration control methods and standards.

• Maintain adherence to accessory product expectations for accessory product categories as assigned.

• Maintain vehicle applicability, conflicts, and requirements for accessories.

• Facilitate accessory supplier readiness for manufacturing of accessories.

• Facilitate accessory manufacturing process readiness for installation of accessories, including installation training (for trainers).

• Participate in model year carry-over validation activities.

• Support accessory product quality problem solving efforts, including supplier corrective action.

• Participate in Field Quality Plan development for newly launched accessories.

• Participate in review of warranty and other indicators of field performance and customer satisfaction.

• Participate in the continual improvement of accessory development and launch processes.

• Participate in determining the direction of the accessory portfolio and help optimize accessory product category

• Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.

• Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.

• Other duties may be assigned.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
