A school-based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position is available for two skilled professionals to support K-12 students in Newport News, VA. This opportunity is a contract role with a duration aligned to the school year, providing the chance to work within an educational setting that fosters student development and success.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with occupational therapists to implement individualized therapy programs tailored to student needs.
• Assist in assessing students functional abilities and progress throughout the school year.
• Support students in developing fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.
• Document therapy sessions and municate effectively with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Adapt therapeutic activities to acmodate diverse learning environments and student requirements.

Qualifications:

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license or certification.
• Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in school-based settings.
• Strong munication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators, therapists, and families.
• Knowledge of educational mandates related to special education and therapy services.
