Step 1 MA - $55,300 through Step 8 MA - $58,750
Job Description:
The Lancaster Central School District is searching for an innovative, enthusiastic, and hardworking individual to serve as our Library Media Specialist. The ideal candidate will work effectively with students and collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff to enhance instructional programming.
Job Qualifications:
New York State Certification as a Library Media Specialist
Core Responsibilities:
- Create and deliver lessons based on researched best practices, current formative data, and specially designed instruction.
- Develop thorough knowledge of subject area and grade level curricula; promote information literacy across the curriculum.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop curricular content integrating library media and technology skills.
- Ensure access to a full range of information resources to promote student learning.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom using appropriate disciplinary techniques.
- Meet course, grade level, and district performance goals.
- Create a positive educational environment that fosters growth and success for students of all abilities.
- Utilize curricula that reflect the diversity of educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of students.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational topics.
- Work collaboratively with administrators, department chairs, and colleagues to promote a positive work environment and student achievement.
