JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox News is seeking a Freelance Field Photographer to cover breaking news and planned events across the US and internationally. You will collaborate with a team of field photographers, technical crews, satellite truck operators, engineers, field producers, and reporters.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable working solo during breaking news and capable of handling protests, uprisings, political gatherings, and conflicts in hostile regions using traditional ENG cameras. Proficiency in large-scale productions with multi-camera setups, including cinematic cameras and lighting, is required.
Willingness to travel extensively and deploy on short notice to support a 24-hour news cycle is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Deep knowledge of Panasonic & Sony ENG cameras and file workflow operations
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
Lead multi-camera assignments
Handle full-frame camera assignments
Configure audio for single and multiple camera setups
Operate FTP, LiveU, BGAN systems
Manage satellite, microwave, fiber, and truck transmissions
Drive company-owned and rental vehicles safely
Travel extensively on short notice for breaking news
Work nonstandard hours, including overtime and weekends
Edit videos using Adobe Premiere
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years of professional field experience
Strong lighting skills and experience with long-format shoots
Ability to work under high stress in breaking news situations
Versatility to work in the bureau, shoot, edit, and operate satellite trucks as needed
Willingness to travel and deploy at short notice
Knowledge of field audio mixers and ability to manage audio for multiple cameras
Proficiency in mixing live remote feeds with IFB communication
Experience with video photography and non-linear editing
Knowledge of lighting techniques and streaming technologies
Willingness to be trained on satellite camera crew vehicles
Valid Driver's License and Passport, with a clean driving record
Own a camera package (details provided during interview)
Flexible schedule for 24-hour news coverage, including overtime and weekends
Willingness to travel last minute frequently
Drone experience, Part 107 certification, or CDL is a plus
