The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) is an MLS soccer club serving the greater Los Angeles area. POSITION SUMMARY

LAFC Internship Program aims to provide students with the opportunity to apply university teachings to a real-world setting in the business of professional sports and live entertainment. Throughout the program, students will be given the opportunity to receive mentorship and shadow key industry leaders, but also able to ideate and execute upon their learning goals. Participants will be given a final capstone project to work on in conjunction with hands on experience during the internship. Interns will present their final capstone project to a panel at the end of the program.

Additional program details:\n8-week hybrid summer internship program from June 16th to August 11th\nPart-time opportunity with a commitment of 30 hours/week\nInterns will be compensated at $19/hour\nCandidates must meet the following requirements to participate in the program:

Be eligible to receive college credit for the internship\nApplicants, including international students, must possess work authorization, which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa\nKnowledge and skill requirements:

Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask, organize and prioritize work\nAttention to detail and problem-solving skills\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to maintain strict levels of confidentiality\nComputer skills and knowledge of Google Docs and social media platforms\nApplications will close on Friday, February 27th at 5pm PT.

LAFC is currently operating on a hybrid work model with a minimum of 1-2 in-office days per week. Please note that this may vary by role, and your scheduled in-office days are up to the discretion of your supervisor.

LEARNING GOALS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

As a Marketing Intern at LAFC, you will be immersed in the day-to-day lifecycle of a professional sports marketing department. This role is designed to provide a 360-degree view of how a brand operates, offering tangible experience in everything from digital strategy to physical merchandise and community engagement.

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) is an MLS soccer club serving the greater Los Angeles area. LAFC is invested in the world's game and Los Angeles, constructing, and developing the 22,000 seat BMO Stadium and a top-flight training center on the campus of Cal-State Los Angeles.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Social Media Manager will join a social media team responsible for the creation and distribution of content across LAFC's multiple social channels. This person will focus on filming and editing compelling video content for the Club's social platforms that connects with our community and audience. This highly creative individual will also co-manage the execution of our social media strategy across multiple channels. This role will require travel to various work locations, such as being on-site at our corporate offices, the team's training facility, BMO stadium, and as well as traveling to all LAFC matches to capture content.

This person will collaborate across multiple departments at LAFC, including Design, Video, Brand, Community, Partnerships, Communications, and Team Operations.

This role reports to the Director, Social Media and Marketing.

LAFC is currently operating on a hybrid work model with a minimum of 2 in-office days per week. Please note that this may vary by role, and your scheduled in-office days are up to the discretion of your supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nContent Creation: Produce high-quality, engaging short-form vertical videos optimized for social media platforms such as TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Stories, and more.\nVideo Editing: Edit videos to create compelling stories, ensuring alignment with the brand's voice and style guidelines.\nPlatform Management: Manage and maintain content calendars for each social platform, ensuring consistent, timely, and strategic posting. Ensure all LAFC social content is optimized for each platform.\nCollaboration: Work closely with the design and content teams to develop creative concepts and campaigns that resonate with the target audience.\nTrend Monitoring: Consistently stay up to date with the latest trends, strategies, and techniques in social media, with a specific focus on short-form video content.\nCommunity Engagement: Monitor and respond to audience comments and messages, fostering a sense of community and engagement for the Club.\nAnalytics and Reporting: Track and analyze the performance of social media content, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.\nSupporting Team Efforts: Assist the broader team with additional tasks and projects as needed, contributing to the overall success of the social media strategy.\nTravel and attend all home and away games.\nOther duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management.\nQUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field from an accredited college or university.\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in social media management, preferably in the sports or live entertainment industry.\nPrevious experience capturing content in a live event environment.\nExperience with major social media platforms such as TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Stories, and other vertical video formats.\nFamiliarity with and passion for social media in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving digital environment.\nStrong understanding of social media metrics and the ability to make strategic, data-driven decisions.\nDemonstrated success in growing social accounts, particularly in engagement and follower growth.\nProficient and comfortable with video editing software.\nAbility to multitask and make sound decisions in a fast-paced and unstructured environment with frequent interruptions and demanding deadlines.\nAbility to attend and travel with the team to all home and away games. Must be able to obtain or possess a valid, current U.S. passport.\nAbility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the event calendar.\nAbility to communicate effectively and efficiently in English, both written and verbal. Bilingual in Spanish or Korean is preferred.

SALARY RANGE

At LAFC, we carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine a fair and equitable compensation package. The final offer amount will consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience and training. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure guidelines, the compensation range for this role is $75,000 - $85,000 per year.
