Position Description
This is an unpaid volunteer position. Interviews are conducted as applications are received, based on current library needs. Currently, the Centennial Library seeks Reading Mentors (ages 15+).
Volunteer Details
- Minimum commitment of 3 months.
- Shifts of 1-2 hours per week.
- For adult volunteers interested in one-time events, contact the Friends of the Anoka County Library.
- Teens needing 5 hours or less for school or service requirements can sign up through the Service Programs Calendar.

Centennial branch, 100 Civic Heights Cir, Circle Pines, MN 55014.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Reading Mentors meet weekly with assigned students during after-school hours to support literacy skills through reading aloud, activities, and goal setting. Mentors must complete online training and an in-person orientation.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Successfully pass a criminal background check.
Selection Process
Applications should detail relevant education and experience. They may be used to verify responses to supplemental questions.

Passing a criminal/background check may be required.
