Job Description

Reference and Instruction Librarian. Applicants must be strong communicators and effective classroom/reference facilitators who enjoy teaching in a student-centered environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide reference services in person, chat, and phone.
  2. Teach library information literacy classes and student workshops.
  3. Meet with students for research assistance.
  4. Create and maintain online research guides (libguides).
  5. Maintain records of interactions.
  6. Perform professional librarian duties as assigned.
  7. Participate in departmental meetings, assessments, and surveys.
  8. Comply with institutional procedures.
  9. Engage in professional development activities.

Job Requirements

Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program. Preferred: experience in academic libraries, familiarity with online systems and Springshare suite, a second Master's degree, online teaching experience, flexibility to work at either campus and remotely, and a commitment to student-centered, culturally competent pedagogy.

Additional Information

Part-time faculty are paid on a lecture hour equivalent basis, with rates for 2024-2025 at $1191/LHE without doctorates and $1262/LHE with doctorates. Faculty advance after successful semesters.
