Overview:

The Mortgage Closing Coordinator oversees and coordinates all aspects of the mortgage closing process to ensure smooth, timely, and compliant transactions. Responsibilities include preparing closing numbers, meeting all closing conditions, and disclosing the closing disclosure per regulatory requirements. The role requires attention to detail and analytical skills, as errors may lead to financial loss. The coordinator facilitates communication among all parties involved, including sellers, buyers, realtors, and stakeholders, to ensure successful loan closings.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and send all disclosures and redisclosures throughout the closing process, in accordance with policies, procedures, regulations (e.g., TILA-RESPA), and guidelines.
  2. Review and verify the accuracy of loan costs, insurance escrow, taxes, title search, legal review, and invoices before preparing the closing disclosure. Ensure timely redisclosure if new information arises.
  3. Communicate closing numbers with sellers, buyers, realtors, and stakeholders to ensure clarity and agreement, providing excellent customer experience.
  4. Perform quality reviews before closing to ensure compliance with procedures, regulations, and guidelines, and that all closing conditions are met.
  5. Prepare the closing package and coordinate the disbursement of checks to accounting.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned, noting that responsibilities may change or new ones may be added at any time.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Two to three years of relevant experience in Mortgage.
  • Two to three years of relevant experience in Mortgage Closing.
  • Experience in audits and quality review of files.
