Responsibilities:

• Generate story ideas through research of social media, news wires, websites, and contacts
• Identify impactful news stories that result in provocative, compelling television
• Delegate responsibilities to associate producers, assignment editors, and video editors
• Produce timely content under heavy deadline pressure
• Stay current on local events and politics
• Attend editorial meetings
• Excel in a deadline-driven environment
• Possess strong writing skills, including tease writing
• Use sound editorial judgment and attention to detail
• Interact with viewers and users on social media
• Work varying shifts, including nights, overnights, and weekends
• Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, business, or related field (preferred)
• Strong writing and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Attention to detail
• Ability to analyze data and ensure accuracy
• Experience in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
• Understanding of show timing and field production experience (a plus)
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
