Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of music and musical instruments preferred.
  • Experience and training in warehouse operations (preferably in an educational environment), including receiving, data collection and recording, order processing, inventory control, filing, returns and allowances, quality control, materials handling, purchasing, packaging, sorting, etc. Alternatives deemed appropriate and acceptable may be considered.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management.
  • Proficiency with work order management, financial accounting, and inventory management software.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Skilled in general office processes, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Ability to relate well with staff, parents, and community members.
  • Knowledge of standard practices, equipment, and terminology in warehouse operations.
  • Ability to work from heights.
  • Ability to work independently following prescribed standards with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Dependability and interpersonal skills.

Physical/Emotional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 65 pounds.
  • Ability to work from a ladder.
  • Good speaking, reading, hearing, and manual dexterity skills.
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, stoop, walk, reach, push, pull, and climb.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Supervisor – Music Library for daily assignments.
  • Maintain inventory of department resources, including sheet music and instruments.
  • Coordinate rental of district instruments to staff and parents.
  • Communicate with music teachers and parents about library issues.
  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, filing, processing purchase requests, and distributing purchase orders.
  • Perform music library activities as scheduled.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to work requests.
  • Follow standards and procedures for daily tasks.
  • Assist with requisitions, issuing supplies, quality control, inventory updates, work order processing, recordkeeping, sorting mail, etc.
  • Assist in receiving, inspecting, picking, filling, routing, stocking, dusting, replenishing, packaging, rejecting/returning damaged merchandise, etc.
  • Review stock periodically for age, quality, and availability.
  • Label equipment properly.
  • Follow district protocols for receipt and issuance of parts and supplies, maintaining accurate records.
  • Utilize district inventory and work order software (TERMS, Maintenance Direct).
  • Attend training and meetings for professional development.
  • Perform tasks safely and efficiently, operating equipment responsibly.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, language, and work ethic.
  • Maintain good attendance for operational continuity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment: Twelve (12) months, part-time (4 hours).

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated per board policy on classified personnel.

Significant Associations: Responsibilities may extend beyond those listed and include other duties assigned by the supervisor.
