Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Director to oversee the technical operations and maintenance of a diverse fleet, including tankers, general cargo, multipurpose vessels, and tug/barge units. The Technical Director will ensure that all vessels comply with regulatory standards, maintain high-performance levels, and operate efficiently across various regions, including the Americas, Africa, and the Caribbean.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the technical team, including technical superintendents and port engineers, ensuring effective fleet support.
• Oversee planned maintenance systems (PMS), dry-docking, and major repairs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Develop and manage the technical budget, controlling maintenance and repair costs.
• Coordinate with flag states, classification societies, and other regulatory bodies for vessel certifications.
• Implement and monitor vessel safety and environmental policies, ensuring compliance with international regulations.
• Lead technical investigations in case of machinery failures or incidents.
• Support the commercial team with technical expertise in client and project discussions.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in technical management within the maritime industry.
• Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations, including ISM, MARPOL, and SOLAS.
• Proven experience with dry-docking, PMS, and budget management.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
