Job Description/Summary:
WNDU Multimedia, part of Gray Television, seeks a fluent bilingual Spanish/English speaker/writer with high energy and creativity. The ideal candidate enjoys generating story ideas, writing for video, and performing compelling live shots. Must be highly proficient in both languages, self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced newsroom focused on breaking news, severe weather, and investigative digital reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Fluent in English and Spanish, both speaking and writing
- Produce accurate, unbiased digital content
- Pitch, write, and publish stories on digital platforms and social media
- Meet deadlines and adapt as needed
- Experience in field reporting and shooting as a one-person multimedia journalist
- Build relationships within the community
- Be a collaborative team player
Qualifications:
- B.A. or B.S. in Journalism or related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong translation skills between English and Spanish
- Native-level Spanish speaking and writing skills
- Proficient in English
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- On-site work in South Bend, Indiana
- Demonstrated storytelling skills in digital and live platforms
