Queen City News television station in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Reporter who can track down and dig into compelling stories, shoot, write, edit, and present live reports while engaging with digital platforms. The ideal candidate should work well under pressure, stay informed on current events and local newsmakers, and have the ability to establish a network of contacts for news gathering. The role requires a self-starter attitude, a positive outlook, and a desire to grow as a journalist. Queen City News operates with advanced, 21st-century newsgathering technology as part of the “newsroom of the future” movement.
Responsibilities include:
- Excellent communication, writing, and grammar skills for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Compliance with all station and department policies and procedures.
- Willingness to work weekends.
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in communications or journalism is strongly preferred. Training will be provided if needed.
The candidate must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds and navigate stairs and rough terrain with equipment.
