Title: Grant Writer

Duration: July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028

Location: New Jersey (Onsite)

Job Description (JD as sent to the candidate):
  1. Summary: The client is seeking qualified Grant Writing Consultant(s) and/or firms in accordance with the scope of work specified in this request, to support and aid in securing funding resources to continue and increase operations and programs administered by the County. The County invites grant writers and/or firms with substantive experience in writing, submitting, and securing grants for government institutions to apply. Successful applicants will have grant writing and submission experience in one or more of the following areas:
  2. Federal
  3. State
  4. Local
  5. Private Foundations
  1. Roles and Responsibilities:
The County is desirous of retaining a consultant and/or firm that will, at a minimum, be able to support the County by providing the following:

A. Grant Writing & Research
  1. Researching and tracking all appropriate local, state, federal, and private entity funding sources and advising the County on which grants/sources to approach and how;
  2. Work with the County's staff from a variety of various Departments to interpret guidelines, and gather material and information necessary for a strong grant proposal;
  3. Identify and engage potential partners to build a strategy for reaching existing and potential partners whose missions overlap and complement County initiatives and projects for the purpose of stronger and competitive grant proposals;
  4. Write grant proposals as requested in time to meet deadlines, and prepare the proposal for submission;
  5. Attend meetings necessary to accomplish the required work. This includes a requirement for the principal of the respondent to attend monthly grant meetings with designated County representatives; and
  6. The consultant will oversee any other administrative services necessary to meet grant requirements for any projects identified by the County.
B. Grant Management & Reporting
  1. Prepare and electronically submit monthly status tracking reports and a yearly report on successes and weaknesses of all grants awarded/rejected within the calendar year.
  2. Track and document grant amounts secured by the respondent each month, that does not include grants the County secures on a yearly basis.
