Contract Technical Writer Job at Soleconsulting in Los Angeles

We’re looking for a detail-orientedTechnical Writer(no recruiters or agencies, please) to create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation that supports internal product implementations, internal processes, and client deliverables.

You’ll work closely with our consultants and clients to create d project managers to translate complex concepts into accessible content for both technical and non-technical audiences.

While this is listed as a hybrid role, it is expected to primarily be remote with the occasional need to be onsite at clients for working sessions. However, you must be based in the Los Angeles Metro or Orange County areas. This is a full-time role expected to be 6+ months in duration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain client-facing documentation including project narratives (why/what/when), user guides, FAQs, system documentation, SOPs, and implementation manuals
• Write internal documentation to support onboarding, delivery standards, and best practices
• Collaborate with SMEs to gather information through interviews, demos, and technical specs
• Edit and standardize content across teams for consistency, tone, and branding
• Organize documentation in tools like Confluence, Teams/SharePoint, or Google Drive for easy navigation and version control
• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness of all documentation

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 2–5 years of experience in a technical writing, documentation, or content management role
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to create visually appealing content
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, structured content
• Familiarity with SaaS, cloud platforms, Microsoft productivity products, or enterprise IT environments
• Experience with documentation tools
• Strong collaboration, task management, and time management skills
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
