EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED: • Must hold or be eligible to hold appropriate NC license • Completion of an approved program at the master's degree level or above • Upgrades professional knowledge and skills on a continual basis • Commitment to high achievement for all students • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills • Positive role model both professionally and personally
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBLITIES: Computer Lab instructional duties Media Coordinator duties Planning and implementing for teaching and learning Assesses learning and information needs of students and staff Provides training and support to staff on technology integration Advocates and promotes reading and lifelong learning Advocates the principles of intellectual freedom and ethical behavior Planning and implementing for information access, evaluation and use Creates and maintains an environment conducive to learning Encourages the widest possible use of print and electronic resources and services-within the school library media center, throughout the school, and through remote access Leads teachers and students in the collaborative process to select and evaluate resources that address curricular needs and learning goals for the information age Planning and implementing for program administration Collaborates with school staff to design and implement short and long-range plans to ensure balance among teaching, instructional technology, collection development, and program management Organizes and maintains accurate inventories of print and non-print resources, technology materials and equipment in the school library media facility in a manner that supports the mission, goals, and objectives of the school and maximizes intellectual and physical access to resources Benefits:
