OVERVIEW SEQUEL is actively seeking a Public Relations & Marketing Director with a focus on entertainment and talent. The Manager provides support to the Vice Founder by developing and managing key relationships that support the vision and business objectives of our clients. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES In partnership with the Founder of the agency, develop a PR strategy for each client and drive implementation while demonstrating impactful results. Develop and execute earned media plans and secure brand building coverage for multiple clients for their music and related projects Increase profiles of clients by identifying opportunities across media outlets, conferences, podcasts and industry events. Oversee and implement the agreed approach with the respective in-house and external teams. In line with strategy, ideate creative ways to tell our clients’ stories, celebrating campaigns, events and the profiles of each Create unique and creative ways for our clients to intersect pop culture (i.e. throw the first pitch at a baseball game, become the first music curator of a team, work with a gaming partner, etc.) Compile interview briefings for spokespeople / artists and written responses for features and news stories Maintain relationships with relevant journalists, media and brand partners Provide coverage targets (by month and by project) Accountable for KPI tracking and reporting, working with Manager, Coordiantor and interns Monitor client brand exposure, ensuring all communication and activity is in line with strategy. WHAT YOU BRING 4+ years of PR and marketing experience in the entertainment or talent publicity field Robust network of media and editorial relationships – not just names, established work with these contacts and a proven track record of earned media placements Ability to work on competing priorities at the same time Able to work with different teams and personalities, and find ways to compromise and do what’s best for the business Proficient in Google suite (Excel, Slides, Word) Strong attention to detail General interest in music as many clients will be music artists Comfortable with a fast-paced environment and able to be nimble Ability to travel when needed Proven track record of creating a positive impact on business through implementation of a PR and marketing strategy Experience ideating and executing events Proficient writing skills Must have experience managing a team Must have experience writing and creating media strategies for clients Discreet, professional and well spoken, with excellent communication skills Extremely well-organized, methodical and efficient, with a good dose of common sense and initiative Proactive and able to show initiative/ideas to constantly promote our clients Creative and strategic thinker Able to identify communication opportunities across multiple media platforms WHAT WE BRING Hybrid work environment Medical, Dental and Vision insurance Generous vacation and sick day allotment Summer Fridays Paid Winter Holiday Break Salary is negotiable based on skills and experience.
