THE POSITION:

We are looking for a UX & Design Senior Director to join our product team and lead design and research across all of our sports products, including Sportsbook, Daily Fantasy, Racing, FaceOff, and Free2Play.
FanDuel runs and operates the #1 online sportsbook in America, the biggest online horse race betting platform and a daily fantasy product that was the first of its kind to mass market.
This leadership role will be responsible for helping define and execute against a vision that brings unified customer experiences across our products and builds lovable experiences at scale. This position is responsible for managing directors, managers and ICs across the Sports UX domain.

Influence: You have led teams through deep levels of change in terms of how UX & D functions in an organization. You use relationship building, storytelling and persuasion to effectively communicate UX strategies, design concepts, and research findings to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, influencing decision-making processes and gaining buy-in for UX initiatives. You have experience representing user experience at the highest levels within an organization and are recognized as an influential leader both within and outside of your department:
Strategic & Visionary : You can consistently work with abstract ideas or situations across functional areas of a business. You can identify and evaluate fundamental issues, and provide strategy and direction for major functional areas. You’re not afraid to challenge the status quo by looking to evolve and grow cross functional teams and ways of working.
Goals & Objectives: You’ll align your objectives with company-wide performance under the general direction of senior leadership. You’ll affect deep levels of change in terms of how your teams function with their peers in product, engineering, commercial, and marketing. Define and track key UX metrics, analyze data, and generate actionable insights to drive data-informed design decisions and measure the impact of UX initiatives.
Customer Centricity: You demonstrate a deep dedication to customers by investing time observing them, gaining insights from research teams and helping define the success of FanDuel sports at the intersection of business and customer value. You advocate for accessibility by enabling it across our end-to-end design and development cycles.
Test and Learn: You inspire teams around you, bringing new ideas and concepts to the table. You understand how to balance innovation and evolution. A mindset and approach of constantly testing and learning encourages teams to embrace speed and iteration over seeking perfection.
People Centricity: Your leadership style leads to close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, marketing, and data analytics, to ensure seamless integration of UX principles throughout the product lifecycle. You’ll help develop your leadership team in people management, strategy, and the intersection of user experience and business. You’ll champion talent acquisition and retention through thought leadership and promoting UX & Design at FanDuel, both internally and externally.
Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, best practices, and innovations in sports betting, fantasy sports, and peer-to-peer gaming, and apply them to enhance our product user experiences. Equally, you also have a passion to stay in touch with trends defining customer experience and expectations outside of our direct industry. You will bring learnings and experience from your past roles to continually benchmark and improve upon FanDuel’s market lead.
THE STATS:
What we're looking for in our next teammate
● Minimum of 12 years experience in the field of UX or Product Design , plus 4 years management experience
● Knowledge of sports and/or experience working within a heavily regulated industry is a plus
