Position Purpose
Work collaboratively with a small team of editors to create high quality, literary student books for the school market. Responsible for editorial duties as well as providing editorial support in a variety of capacities.

Work collaboratively with a small team of editors to create high quality, literary student books for the school market. Responsible for editorial duties as well as providing editorial support in a variety of capacities.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist with and support product development, particularly student book development, as requested including but not limited to:
- Review all stages of student’s books from concepts to layouts
- Participate in concepting book ideas
- Edit and refine outlines, manuscripts, and layouts in developmental rounds
- Collaborate and communicate with authors, illustrators, and agents, as well as the in-house editorial team
- Conduct research as requested
- Create and maintain photo logs
- Track and traffic manuscripts through a variety of rounds
- Create, update, and maintain product metadata
- Help with assignment of ISBNs
- Help run reports from the Product Manager database
- Help with QAing of print and digital product, as requested
- Assist Marketing/Sales by providing information or PDFs/other as requested
- Review and evaluate competitive products from companies
- College degree, B.A. in English, education, or a related field a plus (M.A. a real plus)
- Superior writing, editing, and project management skills
- Some knowledge of book development is a plus, but an interest and a willingness to learn is essential
- Current knowledge of language, literacy, and instructional content issues a plus
- Intermediate-Advanced proficiency, MS Office
- Basic proficiency, Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
- Comfortable juggling several projects concurrently
- Able to work collaboratively with all departments (e.g., editorial, design, and marketing)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Teaching experience is a plus
- The base salary range represents the low and high end of the expected salary range for the position. The base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors such as geographic location, experience, education, and skill level.
