Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and compassionate Board Certified Music Therapist to join our team. The Music Therapist will enhance the lives of children with developmental disabilities through music-based interventions in both home and clinic settings. The ideal candidate will have six months of experience in a comparable setting. Recent grads with experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group music therapy sessions for children with developmental disabilities, incorporating a variety of music-based interventions.
- Assess each child's unique needs, strengths, and preferences to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Utilize music therapy techniques to facilitate improvements in communication, socialization, emotional expression, motor skills, and cognitive abilities.
- Engage families and caregivers in the therapeutic process, providing education and support.
- Monitor and document progress regularly, maintaining accurate records in accordance with clinic policies.
Qualifications:
- Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC) from the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program.
- Completed all educational and clinical training requirements as required by the American Music Therapy Association, including a six-month internship.
- Experience working with children with developmental disabilities in a clinical or educational setting preferred.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention.
- Compassionate and client-centered approach to care.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- CPR/ First Aid/ Article 9 Training.
