Position Summary:
Atlanta Housing is seeking a visionary and hands-on Graphic Designer to drive the visual and narrative aspects of our brand. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the visual design. The ideal candidate is a natural creative with exceptional skills in visual design, storytelling, and campaign production, along with the organizational and cross-functional collaboration abilities to bring complex ideas to life seamlessly. This person must demonstrate strong conceptual thinking and the ability to develop big, breakthrough ideas across all mediums. They must have an in-depth knowledge of copy, art direction and design as well as take responsibility and set standards for the overall quality of the creative product.
This role will be working on the largest public housing authoritys brand. This role will develop a strong understanding of AHs creative needs, process, and design priorities, while striving to develop new ways of working and thinking in the digital design space.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Consistently produce high quality internal and external communications content often under tight timelines and with competing priorities
- Maintain and regularly update media lists and databases
- Monitor press coverage and prepare reports for internal stakeholders
- Monitor media trends and social conversations to uncover news trends, new media columns and story ideas for clients
- Contribute to creation of communications plans
- Coordinate logistics for press events, briefings, and media tours
- Coordinate logistics for all Atlanta Housing events and milestones
- Demonstrate tactical proficiency in media relations, including creating and driving both traditional and social media outreach plans
- Assist in drafting media materials, including press releases, fact sheets, and pitches
- Support media outreach efforts, ensuring timely follow-ups and tracking
- Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills; set and pursue stretch goals
- Perform other communications-related duties as assigned
- Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
- Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience are also welcome to apply
- 2+ years of experience in internal or employee communications
- Strong writing, editing, and project management skills
- Proficiency with communication tools and platforms
- Exceptional collaboration, interpersonal communication, planning, project management and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work in fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Capability to think creatively and originally to create compelling and engaging content for assignments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel; experience with SharePoint a plus
- Fluent in AP Style and able to write clearly and succinctly with a high-level of accuracy, using proper grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Demonstrated excellent analytical and quantitative skills
- Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in decision making
- Ability to periodically support crisis communications outside of normal business hours
Works in an office environment. May require frequent bending, stooping, reaching and prolonged sitting and/or standing. May require regular lifting usually not exceeding 20 lbs. Some travel may be required.
