HMP Global is an industry leader in providing CME activities for healthcare practitioners across a broad range of therapeutic areas. We are currently seeking a Medical Writer/Editor to join our growing team.
The Medical Writer/Grant Proposal Writer will play a vital role in our educational programming organization by writing and revising educational grant requests/proposals. You will collaborate with Business Development, Grants, and Outcomes colleagues to plan and assess educational activities.
Please be prepared to submit writing samples when requested.
Responsibilities:
- Overall development, writing, and editing of grant proposals to assure submission on or before deadlines (learning objectives, agenda, educational design, educational gap analysis, clinical needs assessment)
- Regularly revise developed proposals based on updates within the therapeutic area
- Maintain a working knowledge of latest clinical data and FDA approvals within company’s therapeutic areas of interest
- Review educational content prepared by faculty and develop outcomes questions based on final program content
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in medical/scientific area (required); advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD, MPH) or at least 2 years of experience as a medical writer (required)
- Clinical writing experience in oncology (preferred, not required)
- Verifiable and consistent work history (required)
- Experience and demonstrated success with grant, proposal, abstract and manuscript writing
- Ability to complete literature review and review/analyze scientific/medical research in order to apply knowledge to content development
Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements:
- Deadline driven, capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to search, interpret, and summarize published literature
- Basic understanding of clinical trial design and drug approval process in the US and Europe
- Proficiency with using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously: excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail; high level of accountability
- Excellent communication skills: ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Excellent command of the English written language including grammar, punctuation, etc.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
- Consistent and verifiable work history
