
Hearst-owned WBAL NewsRadio 1090 and FM 101.5 is seeking a versatile broadcaster to join our award-winning team who is comfortable in both the sports and news arenas. We are searching for a motivated, dependable individual who can anchor and host with energy, urgency and confidence—whether it is anchoring a sports update or hosting a general issues program. You are knowledgeable about current events and will be encouraged to deliver compelling content on-air and through our digital platforms. This is an on-site position. The salary range is $23.08 - $24.23 per hour depending on experience as outlined in the SAG-AFTRA Collective Bargaining Agreement. You will report to the Programming News Director.
Job Responsibilities:
- Anchor WBAL sports updates
- Monitor news from multiple sources and scripting sports reports
- Cover live sports events and press conferences when needed
- Host sports or general issues talk programming as warranted
- Deliver breaking stories in a timely and concise manner
- Contribute to our online platforms, including wbal.com and social media
Requirements Skills
- Understanding of the Baltimore metro and surrounding areas helpful
- Familiarity with radio or television broadcast news and sports operations helpful
- Must be available to work holidays, and flexible with schedule during breaking sports and news events
- Comparable experience preferred
- Broadcast experience preferred, particularly anchoring and reporting sports and news
- Related military experience will be considered
