Job Description

We are seeking a Technical Artist experienced with Unreal Engine to collaborate with our real-time content and product development teams.

The ideal candidate will be a technical problem-solver with a passion for technical design, pipeline efficiency, and visual quality. You will craft blueprints and code to engineer solutions, utilize Unreal Engine 4 and other content creation tools to produce stunning content, and work closely with project producers, art directors, and leads to maintain a cohesive vision of quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Collaborate with artists and producers to identify and resolve technical challenges, providing strategic advice for R&D and project execution.
  • Apply technical problem-solving to enhance visual quality and reduce production time.
  • Seek opportunities to improve team skills and product quality through research and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain technical standards through documentation, best practices, naming conventions, asset libraries, and external resources.
  • Work effectively within game design and technical constraints, maximizing visual output in Unreal, 3DS Max, and Maya.
  • Possess expert knowledge in artistic and technical aspects of Adobe Suite, Max or Maya, and Unreal Engine.
  • Be proficient with Unreal’s Blueprint system.
  • Have familiarity with Unity and C#.
  • Understand shader node graphs, physically-based shading, and rendering workflows, especially in Unreal Engine.
  • Experience with organic and hard surface modeling with optimized topology and UVs.
  • Have a strong understanding of architecture, materials, lighting, color, form, and spatial relationships.

Preferred but not required:

  • Asset management and pipeline development experience.
  • VR/AR experience.
  • Building dynamic apps connected to web backends like Heroku, Firebase, or REST APIs.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Perforce/Helix and Git.
  • Networking/server administration for Windows and Linux.
  • Knowledge of CMS systems like Drupal.
  • Scripting with PHP, Python, and database management with MySQL/PostgreSQL.
