Phoenix Systems is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Audio/Video installation technician with Control4 certification(s) to join our team. Candidates should be self-motivated, personable, and of good character, with a passion for custom electronics, installation, and providing world-class service to high-end clients.

Job Details

Type: Full-time

Start Date: Anticipated to be July 21, 2025

Responsibilities

  • Perform service, installation, and activation of security systems, surround sound systems, system components, speakers, TV hangs, remote controls, shades, screens, advanced lighting controls, and systems requiring Control4 automation and programming.
  • Communicate with customers to review work orders, answer questions professionally.
  • Instruct and train customers on system functions and operation.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of security systems operation, functions, and wiring requirements.
  • Understand security systems Phoenix Systems installs and services (NX, SimonXTi, 2Gig, DSC, Qolsys, etc.).
  • Handle after-hours emergency service calls (on a rotation basis).
  • Create and edit Control4 IR Drivers.
  • Install and program shades and screens.
  • Terminate multimode fiber ends with appropriate tools.
  • Calibrate advanced projectors and receivers for optimal video and sound.
  • Resolve technical issues independently.
  • Perform duties of Trim Tech II/III and A/V Security Technician II as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with security/AV installations.
  • Active Control4 Associate Installer & Automation Programmer certifications (SnapAV required).
  • Active Control4 PCNA Certification (preferred).
  • Certifications in Centralized Lighting and Lutron Lighting (preferred).
  • Knowledge of cable types, networking setup, and ability to assess system design.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain necessary tools.
  • Background check, drug screening, and MVR required.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, talk, hear.
  • Use step and extension ladders frequently.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds regularly, occasional lifts up to 100 pounds.
  • Work at active construction sites, exposed to temperature changes, dust, and moderate noise.

Salary

Starting at $27.00/hour.
