$110,500.00 - $165,700.00 Annual Salary
Job Description Summary:
Manage design activities on Design Build Projects from project award through construction completion.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
- Break down Design Build RFPs and develop design build capture approach with Business Development.
- Provide monthly cost and billing analysis for all active D/B efforts relative to Owner/Architect and internal budgets.
- Develop, negotiate, and monitor Architectural Engineering agreements based on deliverables and scope of services.
- Lead design management efforts to incorporate efficiencies and best practices into the design to optimize construction practices.
- Ensure design efforts result in biddable and constructible construction designs, reducing ambiguities and deficiencies.
- Provide continuous support to D/B teams during project execution.
- Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of medium to large multi-discipline design-build architectural-engineering projects.
- Manage client relations with clients and design-build construction partners.
- Participate in and facilitate work sessions for design development and contract documentation at project sites with relevant professionals.
- Review documents and advise on constructability and value analysis.
- Coordinate and develop preliminary schedules from post-award to design completion.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
- Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience.
- 5-8 years of field construction management experience, including supervisory skills.
- Prior experience with the design build solicitation process.
- Problem-solving ability and a strong sense of urgency.
- Organizational and communication skills.
- Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
- Thorough understanding of project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement, estimating).
- LEED accredited professional.
- Solid understanding of green design, sustainable materials, and construction techniques.
- Experience with Virtual Design, Construction (VDC), and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
- Proven ability in design-build project management, including staff management, budgeting, scheduling, and quality assurance.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
