BVK is seeking an experienced Associate Media Director. The Associate Media Director is accountable for media strategy development, output timeliness, accuracy, and overall excellence for a selection of clients within our core key verticals: tourism, healthcare, higher education, B2B, and CPG. This position will contribute to the process of strategic media planning, including audiences, channel selection, and ad tech to deliver on strategy. The Associate Media Director will also serve as an advice and counsel resource for the strategy and implementation teams.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate ability to utilize resources to help guide clients’ marketing goals in their respective markets (syndicated, proprietary, analyst data)
Understand and adopt new techniques and technologies that are relevant for the client’s media strategies
Provide and discuss industry information on media, markets, and related dynamics
Maintain relationships with the media and ad tech community; continue to develop publisher and higher relationships for the exchange of ideas
Build and maintain trusting, collaborative relationships with clients at appropriate levels
Manage expectations of clients and deliverables
Accurately represent the client’s point of view when reviewing work, leverage this perspective when providing feedback to the team, and presenting to the client
Identify opportunities to offer other agency services and capabilities that are not on retainer to existing clients
Grow business opportunities within current clients, where appropriate
Participate and present in New Business efforts and presentations, where appropriate
Capable of effectively managing up and down the reporting structure
Provide and/or guide strategic input for all plans internally and externally
Demonstrate problem-solving and intervention when necessary
Guide and assist staff to arrive at potential solutions to problems/issues
Train, motivate, and develop within the media group
Construct and deliver accurate, honest, and timely performance management documents
Establish and maintain a communications process with clients, digital and offline media teams, etc., for each piece of business within the team
Direct the development of client presentations and other important communication that is clear, compelling, and persuasive
Communicate key information about our company
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
7 + years of media planning experience
Client service experience
Understanding of key research sources
Proven leadership ability – experience managing a team of planners & supervisors
Knowledge of current trends and innovations in media
Knowledge of essential media planning tools
Knowledge of media buying strategies
Knowledge of digital measurement/analytics
Experience in tourism, healthcare, and higher education is a plus
Able to effectively deal with change & diverse people
Able to adapt to changing work environments, work priorities, and organizational needs
Actively listen, effectively express ideas, organize & deliver required information
Gather and analyze information & utilize sound judgment to make necessary decisions
Proactively take action and offer alternative (or new) solutions that improve upon current processes, etc.
Motivates fellow team members, has energy and enthusiasm in their approach to the job, and is highly productive.
Shows a high level of self-motivation, sets priorities, and organizes time and resources to meet the set priorities
