Willingness to learn and adapt to new areas of law and styles of drafting The role of Content Services Counsel, TV Plus will provide legal guidance and meaningfully contribute to key business decisions across all aspects of the TV Plus organization. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, drafting and negotiating contracts for the licensing and distribution of content and technical operation of the platform; helping build effective, business-oriented legal processes that are designed to support scalable growth; supporting a wide variety of global product development/launches; and coordinating with local and global cross-functional stakeholders across Client HQ and regional affiliates on policy and standard frameworks. Responsibilities: • Independently draft, review, negotiate and interpret a range of agreements and other legal documents, with particular focus on licensing of channels and content for distribution via free ad-supported streaming television (FAST). • Provide front-line counsel to executives, senior leadership, and the broader organization on various legal and business issues related to TV Plus. • Work collaboratively across the global TV Plus organization to proactively provide legal guidance and manage legal risks while advancing business goals. • Ensure the organization’s legal policy and frameworks are in compliance with federal and state law, as well as being appropriate for the execution of the business. • Develop and implement improvements to forms and processes. • Manage outside counsel relationships, as needed. Requirements: • Passion for digital media and a genuine curiosity for emerging digital technology • Comfortable with an ever-changing landscape and ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment • Excellent business and legal judgment, as well as a superior ability to assess risk and determine priorities based on that risk assessment and the needs of the business • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and re-prioritize work to meet deadlines. • Experience with domestic and global content licensing, linear and on-demand rights/distribution, and related regulatory matters; up-to-date on the various licensing structures and processes that are customary in the media industry. • Strong negotiation and communication skills (both oral and written). Ability to communicate legal issues in a clear and understandable manner.
