Master’s Degree (required) with 18 graduate hours in Communication.

Preferred

Ph.D. or MFA (preferred) with 18 graduate hours in Communication. Preference given to candidates with demonstrated experience in teaching at the college or university level, as well as applied knowledge of quality standards for online teaching.

Primary Responsibilities

Adjunct faculty will be responsible for teaching a variety of undergraduate Communication courses based on enrollment numbers and departmental needs. Classes may be taught asynchronously, synchronously, or in a hybrid modality as determined by the department.

Responsibilities include instruction of courses within the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences such as Introduction to Mass Communication, Fundamentals of Communication, Public Speaking, and Interpersonal Communication. Experience teaching online with skills in learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard) is preferred.

Compensation varies by degree: Faculty with a master’s degree (unless it’s a terminal degree) earn $850 per credit ($2,550 per 3 SCH) plus a $500 stipend for classes with 20+ students. Faculty with a Ph.D. or terminal degree earn $900 per credit ($2,700 per 3 SCH) plus the same stipend for larger classes.
