Description
The Department of Music at Hofstra University is pleased to invite applications for two Assistant Adjunct Professors in Music Technology for Fall 2025.

The Hofstra University Department of Music invites applications for two assistant adjunct faculty members to teach MUST 100 course. This course introduces students to the foundational tools and techniques of modern music production, focusing on the two industry-standard digital audio workstations (DAWs): Logic Pro and Pro Tools. Through hands-on projects, students will develop practical skills in audio recording, editing, mixing, and sound design, while exploring the creative and technical possibilities of both platforms. Students will complete individual and collaborative projects that demonstrate their ability to integrate sound design with recording and mixing processes, using both Logic Pro and Pro Tools as creative production environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Technology, Audio Engineering, or a closely related field;
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Logic Pro and Pro Tools;
- Practical experience in music production, recording, or sound design.
- Master’s degree in Music Technology, Sound Design, Composition, or a related field;
- Experience teaching at the college or university level;
- A strong professional portfolio in music production, engineering, or sound design;
- Familiarity with synthesis, MIDI programming, and audio mixing in educational or commercial environments.

Salary/Salary Range
Salary/Salary Range $1,458-$1,711 per credit hour

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
