The Washington Examiner wishes to hire a Breaking News Reporter to add to its award-winning news team. This is a job for someone passionate about politics, policy and wider news in Washington D.C., America's heartland, and across the nation. The right candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, pitching and authoring several stories a day.

Role will include covering politics at both the national and local levels, general assignment news,

sport, media, entertainment and more. Shifts will vary and the successful candidate should be comfortable working nights and weekends. The job is based in Washington D.C. although the Examiner currently offers a hybrid in office/at-home schedule. Annual salary approx $55,000. Benefits include healthcare, dental, vision and 401k.

Qualifications/Skills

• News Writing and Reporting skills
• Experience in writing press releases and journalism
• Excellent research and fact-checking abilities
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
• Knowledge of the political landscape is a plus
• Commitment to fostering a positive work environment
• Effective time management and multitasking abilities
