Description

• Assist in developing new and stimulating activities in specialty areas and encourage resident involvement.
• Help residents adjust to new lifestyle concepts and continue their interests, hobbies, and activities.
• Prepare, print, and distribute monthly calendars, newsletters, and memos to residents.
• Facilitate or lead planned activities independently, supporting parallel programming while other staff lead different programs.
• Engage with residents in small groups or one-on-one during free periods.
• Promote positive social engagement among colleagues and residents.
• Become proficient with audio/visual equipment used in programming, such as DVD/VCR, amplifiers, microphones, and sound systems.
• Manage resident funds for special activities or events.
• Maintain knowledge of residents’ backgrounds, hobbies, interests, and languages to foster involvement.
• Report on activity outcomes, participation, and issues to the Lifestyle Director after each event.
• Attend training sessions and seminars to improve knowledge of dementia and recreation programming.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
