Join Our Team as a Music Therapist at VNA of Cape Cod

We are seeking a dedicated Music Therapist to join Cape Cod Healthcare. The role involves organizing and conducting music therapy sessions for facility and Hospice patients, encouraging participation, exploring various musical styles, and collaborating with the Hospice Team on bereavement support and staff training.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct group and individual music therapy sessions.
2. Encourage patient and family participation in music activities.
3. Explore diverse musical styles and sounds, including singing, percussion, and ethnic instruments.
4. Participate in patient conferences to assess needs.
5. Maintain accurate visit records.
6. Facilitate bereavement groups and assist in staff training.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Music Therapy or equivalent; Board Certified Music Therapist.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Music Therapist.
• Knowledge of diverse musical genres and cultural music.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficient on instruments such as piano or guitar; pleasant singing voice preferred.

Position Details:

• Purpose: Organize and conduct music therapy sessions for patients.
• Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 8 am - 4 pm, no weekends or holidays.
• Location: Hyannis, Massachusetts.
• Department: VNA-Hospice.
