Editorial Assistant, Video-Podcasts

Elatromme, a small, NYC-based, newly established video-podcasting platform is looking for a highly organized, editorially oriented junior team member to oversee several functions, including content management and social media promotion, scheduling and some client and admin work. 

Elatromme currently produces two business/finance video-podcasts: Cool Vector is about the rise of the data center industry, and Search Party is for people who buy small businesses. The format is almost entirely conversation-based - interviews and moderated panel discussions. Episodes are recorded over SquadCast or Zoom and turned into episodes. Full episodes are distributed on YouTube and Spotify, and multiple 1-minute clips are distributed over social media. Each episode requires speaker outreach, scheduling, production prep, speaker prep materials, remote recording session, post-production tracking of assets, multi-party content approvals, the crafting of descriptive text for episodes, the daily distribution of content clips, and tracking of content performance metrics, among other critical tasks. 

Candidates should show a history of and an enthusiasm for crafting great digital content assets and distributing them across social media, with a core emphasis on LinkedIn. There will be opportunities to write short articles and other types of descriptive text, and to grow into a more advanced editorial role. It will greatly help if you have an interest in business and finance. 

Candidates should also show a history of and enthusiasm for taking ownership of complex scheduling and content management functions. 

I would expect candidates to come from journalism, marketing and communications backgrounds, but I'm willing to consider other backgrounds.

The position for now is freelance, flexible, remote and hourly, with the expectation of about 25 hours per week. I'd prefer candidates in NYC or the NYC area, but I'm willing to work with someone in a different area code or company if it's a right fit. 

I expect to grow by adding more podcasts, and as that happens there will be a need for more editorial work and probably oversight of other team members. 

Elatromme was founded by financial journalist David Snow to produce video-podcasts about investment topics. The podcast video clips are distributed primarily on LinkedIn.
