Job Description

Job Title: Jr. UX Designer

Duration: 12 months (Temp to Perm)

Role summary:

· The Junior UX Designer focuses on Interaction Design, and responsibilities include driving the user experience strategy for next-generation web and mobile solutions leveraging the Predix platform.

· The candidate will work in a cross-functional and global team with users and stakeholders, contributing to the effective documentation and communication of design via user analysis, workflows, wireframes, and UX principles and methodologies. You will be part of an integrated squad working together to deliver successful outcomes on the Client’s Predix platform.

Essential functions:

  • Conduct user research to understand user needs, mental models, and working contexts.
  • Ask questions appropriate to translating an abstract problem into a roadmap for solutions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate how customer groups are thinking and feeling.
  • Synthesize stakeholder research output & create visualizations to summarize key insights related to user and customer needs and behaviors, product definition.
  • Create annotated prototypes or wireframes that visually and textually communicate software behavior.
  • Use design & wireframing tools (Adobe InDesign, OmniGraffle, Sketch), hand drawing, and interactive prototyping tools (Axure, InVision).
  • Develop knowledge of business products, processes, suppliers, customers, and market/competitors.
  • Lead participatory design activities to understand vision, business models, and user needs.

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience with the Client’s Software Center of Excellence Px platform.
  • Experience in an AG software development environment.
  • Portfolio demonstrating successful conceptual designs, prototypes, and final assets.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions in a matrix environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to advocate for support staffing levels.
  • Experience presenting to non-technical and executive audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, clear communication, and decision-making abilities.
  • Resourceful, quick learner, and self-motivated.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in IS, IT, Computer Science, or Engineering, or High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • 1-3 years in usability roles (research, visual, interaction design).
  • Understanding of Agile/Lean UX methodologies.
  • Experience leading co-creation sessions, creating wireframes, workflows, prototypes.
  • Proven experience with prototyping tools like Axure, Balsamiq, etc.
