Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Ad Operations Manager is to assist individual account managers, the Ad Director, and the Publisher in supporting and promoting the sales activities of the advertising department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead advertising operations across newspaper, magazine, and digital products, including account setup, ordering, creative approval, execution, billing, and collections.
  • Coordinate short- and long-term projects, including daily newspapers, magazines, and events.
  • Assist in creating sales collateral and materials.
  • Oversee the advertising assistant's functions and duties.
  • Book press tickets for special sections and wraps.
  • Manage the premium placement tracker.
  • Work with customers and account managers to resolve ad issues.
  • Adhere to publication workflows to meet deadlines.
  • Manage digital ad campaigns (website, social media, newsletter).
  • Provide weekly digital ad reporting and impression forecasting.
  • Solve problems and answer questions related to ad bookings or creative.
  • Participate in staff meetings and communicate with sales, marketing, and design teams.
  • Design and execute in-house print and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Sales or customer service experience in a sales environment is required.
  • College degree or equivalent sales experience preferred.
  • Experience in digital marketing or social media preferred.
  • Ability to work with diverse personalities.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Accuracy in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient typing, grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite; ability to learn new programs quickly.
  • Design skills with InDesign, Photoshop, and email marketing.

Pay range: $23 to $25 per hour.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance after 60 days; $500 Recreation Bonus after 6 months; 401(k) plan after 1 year.
