A Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business with over 25 years of experience delivering innovative IT solutions to the Federal Government, is seeking a Lead UX/IX Designer to support DHS US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Responsibilities:
- Lead the user experience and user interaction design of complex, enterprise-level services and systems.
- Work closely with USCIS staff and DevSecOps team members (business analysts, UX/IX designers, engineers, technical leads) to design solutions that meet business objectives.
- Understand the functional and technical landscape to design effective solutions for users.
- Serve as a consultant to USCIS business representatives, SMEs, and other non-designers, emphasizing the importance of design in product development and suggesting organizational tactics for improvement.
- Collaborate with other UX professionals across teams to develop standards and address user problems.
- Coordinate with other Lead UX/IX Designers on technical direction and standard frameworks for design-led solutions.
- Ensure all user interfaces are Section 508-compliant and maintain compliance with Section 508 standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related fields.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years in UX/IX architecture and design for enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding and experience in designing complex, enterprise-level services and systems.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with client and contractor staff.
- Proficiency in interaction design theories, creating prototypes with HTML and CSS, or using online tools like Figma.
DHS requires Section 508-compliant user interfaces.
