The Position

Job Title: Insurance Employee Benefits Producer

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Work with company owners, presidents, CEOs, controllers, human resources professionals, and executive directors to tailor employee benefit and human resources programs. Spend a significant portion of your time seeking out new business. Build and maintain relationships with a large network of contacts to facilitate new business production.

KEY FOCUS AREAS

  • Employee Benefits Sales & Retention

Primary duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive new business generation and manage the client relationship lifecycle from lead generation through proposal and close to post-sales service.
  • Work closely with Sales Leader to set and achieve sales goals and with client service team members to ensure the delivery of superior service.
  • Identify and qualify Middle Market prospects for business from potential clients.
  • Maintain a strong and active new business pipeline in line with company goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with individuals responsible for insurance and risk management decisions at prospective clients.
  • Participate in and take leadership roles in targeted industry or community associations and/or boards.
  • Execute sales strategies and develop prospect programs.
  • Provide proactive advice to prospects and clients on potential exposures and suggest ways to positively impact the client's bottom line, including resolving client issues proactively.
  • Support the client management team in the renewal process, including participating in renewal meetings and reviewing renewal strategies.
  • Lead and participate in Client Service Meetings.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of employee benefits experience, mostly in sales within an employee benefits brokerage/consulting firm, insurance carrier, or TPA.
  • Proven success in developing pipelines, effective sales strategies, and maintaining a client-centric reputation.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits, wellness, healthcare, and related products like Health, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD, STD, and work site.
  • Experience in creating service and value propositions, sales marketing, technical insurance knowledge, pipeline management, and cross-selling.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with initiative and self-motivation.
  • Leadership skills to manage and inspire others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in company software including Salesforce, Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet navigation.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid State-relevant Insurance licenses.
