Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will anchor newscasts, work as a reporter/MMJ, generate stories, and engage viewers both on-air and online. Must be digitally savvy, able to shoot, edit, and write solo, and adaptable to a fast-paced newsroom environment. An energetic personality and team spirit are essential.
Responsibilities include:
- Writing news stories under deadlines
- Presenting news in an active manner
- Shooting, editing, and reporting as MMJ
- Producing content for wcjb.com
- Assisting with newscast production as a "command anchor"
- Pitching story ideas aligned with the newsroom's mission
- Connecting effectively with the audience
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years reporting and 1 year anchoring experience
- College degree or equivalent in journalism or related field
- Leadership skills and excellent news judgment
- Professional knowledge of news operations
